Entertainment
Mallory Dock - Westin - Sloppy Joe's - Captain Tonys Saloon - Scooner Wharf
Mallory Dock:
Every evening begins at Mallory Dock, where Key West
gathers to watch the sun go down. Street performers stage everything
from juggling and escape acts to card tricks. The best by far is
"Dominique and His Circus Cats". The cats, Spot, Piggy and Mar
Sharkey, look like ordinary house pets, however this French man has
transformed them into stars in a miniature lion-taming act with
flaming hoops and all. Street vendors sell jewelry, basketwork and
painted t-shirts.
Sloppy Joe's:
Sloppy Joe's was one of Hemingway's hangouts. It is a
popular spot, though loud and sometimes rowdy, with live
entertainment in the afternoon and evening.
Scooner Wharf Bar:
Last little bit of old Key West. Enjoy outdoor tiki hut atmosphere. A place where all our local characters hang out.
Captain Tony's Saloon:
Captain Tony's Saloon is a block away from
Sloppy Joe's and is smaller in size. It was built in 1852 and was
used as a morgue and as an ice house. It was also the site of Sloppy
Joe's until 1938, when Sloppy Joe's moved to Duval Street.
