I would love to bring my 91 year old Mom (who raised 10 kids and is still full of the dickens) back to her father's home country - and perhaps stay a night with you. Thank you so much for the lovely tour. i am so excited. I hope the room you emailed us about is still available. i can't think of a nicer place to spend my 50th birthday! I'm like a kid at Christmas -waiting for Santa! I shall sleep with my fingers crossed! I'm sitting here 2/10/08 with -23 below windchill and had to go and take a look at Key West...I'm so jealous 79 degrees!!!! Just reminiscing of the great staff (everyone was so nice to us, our families and friends), great breakfasts, beautiful rooms as I sit here stuck in the house! ; ) I just wanted to thank you for everything! My now husband and I stayed at the mansion oct 31 through Nov 4th, 2001 for our wedding (11/03). An univited guest had decided she wanted to come as well...Hurricane Michelle! Everyone except the florist, photographer and the priest cancelled on us the morning of the wedding. 9am your staff sees a frantic bride-to-be and groom and you so graciously let us get married at the Inn! It was such a great last minute wedding, we couldn't have planned it any better. Our wedding party had a great time at happy hour and the pool! It was the relaxed fun wedding we wanted, but better because of all of your staff! We all caravanned out to Miami that night and was happy to hear that Michelle didn't really want to visit Key West afterall. It made for a great adventure for all to tell and a story to tell our 3 year old son! Hoping to come back soon, just not near Hurricane season! ; ) The place was beautiful! but one question, as we were viewing the pictures we noticed on the Window's Walk there was um i guess a lady in a wedding dress of some sort holding a telescope in the picture so when I was there I didn't see her so i'm just wondering why she's in the picture yea kinda creepy but overall great place to go i would deffinatly recomend it! It was a wonderful time for our entire family. We especially loved the relaxed atmosphere of your Bed & Breakfast. The breakfasts were graciously prepared by Robin (with visits from her dog Pippin - whom all of us fell in love with!). Key West seems so far away now as a I sit here looking at the New York City skyline. The memory of your lovely place will keep me warm during the upcoming dreary winter months. Thanks for a great stay! Debbie & Myself had a great time. We have had the pleasure of staying with Edith Amsterdam at the Curry Mansion twice, and are looking forwards to staying a third time soon. They have a breakfast that is beyond great, and a happy hour that is unbelievable, and the rooms very nice. We had the pleasure of being introduced to the 1972 USA silver medal Hockey team, and others that we are still in contact with still (over a year-go). You are just a block a way from Duval st. (all the madness) , and not far to get back to your room after exploring the island . You can not go wrong with a stay at the Curry Mansion. Chuck Conrad My wife, Kim, and I visited the mansion March, 2007; we had such a wonderful time, that we are returning May, 2008. Key West is paradise; coupled with the hospitality at Curry Mansion, it's a vacation we plan repeating year after year. Gorgeous Inn! Key West is so beautiful :) We stayed at the master suite of the Curry Mansion in July'07. I loved Key West and visted it several times staying and various B&Bs. This one exceeds all expectations. If you are visting this website, it means you've seen the photos of the Inn. It's one thing to see it on the photo another thing to live there, to walk around the rooms, to sit down at the antique table and watch the old photos or play chess. Totally amazing experience. We had a feeling that for one day the whole masion belong to us. I'm not even talking about all other merits of staying in Curry Mansion. It's right in the center of Old Town. Includes parking. Sumptuous breakfast. The swimming pool kept my daughter busy, while I was enjoying glass of wine and live piano music at cocktail hour. There are lot of surprises as well. Just walk up through the widow's walk. I can't see staying anywhere else on my next visits to Key West. A very wonderful and most relaxing place to stay. Our 9 year old grandaughter really enjoyed the friendship of the entire staff and how they made her feel welcome during our stay. Sure miss all of you ! I have stayed at the Mansion before on a trip that i took with my Grandparents and had a great time. Now i am i guess you would say upscale type, like i prefer staying at a Hilton or something, so my first impression of the place was, with the glass half empty if you know what i mean. But After staying there for 5 nights, i absolutely loved it! It was beautiful and the breakfast was great outside, and i wouldn't mind staying there again. It really felt welcoming and like a home. Lets just say The Curry Mansion really opened my mind up for Bed and Breakfasts. I just got home last nite (6/14/07) from the Curry Mansion. The nicest people work there. The room was great...right by the pool...it was VERY close to everything. I miss the breakfast! I loved the cocktail hour and the snacks! If I ever go to Key West again there's no doubt in my mind where I will stay...the Curry Mansion! In addition to being a great place to stay we made lots of new friends. We stayed at the Curry Mansion in December 2005 with our two kids, as we are in the hotel business we did not want to stay at another bland corporate place so we asked the local tourist board to recommend a tradional house for us to stay at. We loved every minute of our stay and we will be back. Des & Carol Taylorson The most delightful stay I have had in Key West. You can enjoy the fun of Key West and Duval Street and return to the mansion at night for rest and relatation. The staff was wonderful, breakfast the best and the room wonderful. I cannot wait to come back next year. We had a gorgeous time at your hotel this past December! From that wonderful poolside breakfasts every morning, to the cocktail piano parties every night, everything was perfect. Our room was adorable and we really enjoyed sitting out on the balcony, listening to the sounds at Sloppy Joe's at night. We'll be back before the end of 2007, god willing. Thanks for a beautiful memory. My husband & just returned from spending a week with you. It was our first trip to Key West so we didn't know what to expect or have any reservations. It was a fluke how we ended up there, thanks to the information center getting phone calls while trying to find a place to stay. We have never stayed in a B & B before. So we thought we would give it a try. We made a reservation for one night because there was a vacancy. Well you guessed it! One night turned into two, then three and luckily there were vacancies for the rest of the week. Upon entering my knees got weak just seeing all the decor & history in The Curry Mansion. We met so many wonderful people socializing at breakfast & happy hour. It truly was one of the most wonderful vacations we ever had. We both cannot wait to come back. I now realize that I better make reservations or we may not be as luckily next time. Truly a class act!! It's not that easy to surprise Swiss people because we have or expect a high level of quality. But here we experienced a very high level of quality, style and culture. One of the most beautiful, places on this planet. Many thanks to the lady of the house and the staff. In Key West, we only come here to stay. the virtual tour is really cool and I like the rooms! We just returned home from a lovely week of relaxation at your Inn. As usual, everything was first rate. Thank God it wasn't the beautiful Curry Mansion I remember touring in 1993. My wife and I and another couple just returned from two great nights at The Curry Mansion, April 11&12, 2007. The breakfast and the Happy Hour was "too much", and I mean that in a GOOD way. The hospitality and the rooms were beyond compare. Our Yorkie "Puddin" loved it and was treated like a lady. Climate in Key West allows us to swim and relax at the pool. We've stayed with you a couple of times now and will be back at the end of April, '07. We really appreciate the inn and that you allow us to bring our dog, Kasy. Great location! We visited the Curry Mansion when we lived in Key West. (We visited in 2005--we left after Hurricane Wilma.) It was, in the five years Jason lived in Key West, and the three years Anne lived in Key West, one of the loveliest afternoons we ever spent. We visited many homes and museums in the beautiful southernmost city, but never did we feel as welcome, at home, and relaxed as we did that afternoon. Actually, we've seldom felt as relaxed anywhere as we did that afternoon. We even played a game of pool in the attic..and we had our one year old daughter with us!! As we were leaving, a voice behind us asked if we would like to see her private elevator. Even after having lived in Key West for some time, our visit to the Curry Mansion was a trip to an unfortunately, long gone time. Thank you for that afternoon. Jason, Anne, and Sara Klein We had the best Honeymoon ever. Edith and Al were the most gracious hosts. Billy (3)fingers could really play the piano. The return trip to Key West and Curry Mansion was outstanding. We went down with two other couples and had a great time. The room, the pool, the hot tub, the breakfast, the happy hour(only thing missing is Bacardi rum), the location and the friendliness of the staff made for a perfect vacation. During a fishing trip to Key West, December, 2005, I and three friends toured Curry Mansion, and I was thinking then how nice it would be to bring someone special there. March, 2007, my wife and I (we married July, 2006) will be spending our honeymoon at Key West, and, of course, we have reservations at the mansion. It was -2 degrees this AM, and I am so looking forward to our week in paradise!!! We had a delightful stay at the Curry Mansion. We expected a beautiful old home filled with antiques and yesteryear charm, but what we did not expect was the great staff. We appreciated all the hip-to-Key West suggestions that helped us get the most out of our visit and enjoyed the conversations. Can't wait to come back! I was doing a google search on my family name and it came up with your site I have been told I had an American Pioneer in the family so there might be a connection We just walked in the door from our stay at the wonderful Curry Mansion. My daughter, Dianne, brought me there for my Birthday. What a perfect present!!! We had been there about 6 years ago for a wedding on Key West and stayed at the Curry Mansion. It was as great this time as it was in 2000. Both beakfast and coctail hour on the patio are always so much fun. We've met some terrific people and had great times. Please don't change a thing!!! It's sparkling clean and wonderfully comfortable. Can't wait to come back a third time!! My husband and I returned from our stay at the mansion celebrating our 20th Anniversary with great friends.What a beautiful comfortable stay it was, we were right in the middle of everything fun to do, all within walking distance. The breakfast was delicious and so convient to just wake up and walk out our door and eat poolside.........Happy hour was unlimited with everything you could imagine to eat and drink! The Curtis My wife and I were married in Key West just over 11 years ago and stayed in the Honeymoon suite at the Curry Mansion...nothing but WONDERFUL memories. Can't wait to get back. (11 years is WAY too long!!) My husband and I were married in 1997 and we decided to spend our honeymoon in a favorite place but a different atmosphere. We stayed in the owner's suite for 10 days. On the eve on my my 11th wedding anniversary, I just wanted to say thank you for giving us the best memories, the most romantic getaway, and a side of Key West that we had never seen before. I so look forward to coming back for the 15th anniversary. We are looking for a place to spend our 30th. Anaversery. It would be In Jan. of 2008. I think this is the place we will love to come. I will we calling in Jan or Feb of 2007 to make reservations! Talk to you then. Margo Mylott My wife and I have stayed at the Curry many times, usually for two weeks or more. Usually we bring our grandson along and he stays with his Aunt Wendy who lives in Key West. He visits us during the day and usually swims in the pool all day long. Everyone has been friendly and nice to us and our rambunctious grandson. We have enyoyed each stay and enjoy meeting all the people who come and go during our long stays. We will be down on October 20, 2006 for just four days. This is the first time we have been down for Fantasy Fest and the first time we have been down without our grandson we are raising. We always leave feeling refreshed and having had a lot a fun. The Curry is centrally located in Old Town Key West yet it is quiet. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfasts are delicious. Our favorite part of visiting the Curry Mansion is the Happy Hours. They have musicians appetizers and a full bar every evening. We ended up meeting many wonderful friends at the cocktail hours. It is with very mixed emotions that we won't be staying at the Curry Mansion as much. We ended up buying a house in Key West. I am sure we will be there for Happy Hours and any fund raisers. Thank you Edith and Suzanne you run a wonderful Guest House! If anyone needs to get away to recharge their batteries and want to have a lot of fun I highly recommend the Curry Mansion! Sincerely, It was just over 10 years ago (Jan. 24, 1996) that my wife and I got engaged at the Curry Mansion Inn. We later returned that September to plan our wedding (lucky for us there was a wedding that day and had ours planned in less than 1 hour - can you beat that!). We then got married (by Al) on Jan. 24 1997. Well after 9 years - we are finally returning to Key West with our kids for a quick one day visit. Really looking forward to our visit and hopefully seeing everyone. We stayed with you in 2000 for our first trip to the Keys and it was wonderful. We have hoped to get back ever since and now finally are counting the days until we see you in February '06! For anyone who is hesitant about booking a place over the internet without seeing it first - we were too - but don't be hesitant with the Curry Mansion. The Curry Mansion Inn is our home away from home. We found it online in 1998-our first visit to Key West-and return every year for at least two visits. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. We love Key West and the Inn is a big part of what makes us so happy to be on the island. The rooms-the staff (especially Suzanne!)-the breakfast-the happy hour-the pool-everything is wonderful!! So don't think twice about where to stay if you are reading this-you have found the best-the Curry Mansion Inn. We have sent many people to the Inn and all have left very happy with their stay but sad to go, as we all are. Enjoy your stay! " Your Inn looks wonderful from your website, we look forward to our stay in late november." " Greetings, My wife and I just came back from a two day visit to Key West and the Curry Mansion Inn. Let me take a minute or two of your time to give an honest assessment. 1st - The Mansion itself is beautiful. Take the time to go exploring all around. The upstairs billiard room was my personal favorite, although the formal dining room really appealed to my wife. It's like going back in time to another era. 2nd - Our room was perfectly adequate in size, clean, well maintained and NICE AND COOL. We stayed at the James House, which is actually across the street from the main mansion... but you're not missing anything by staying there. It may in fact, be a little more "secluded". 3rd - All the staff were friendly, without being intrusive. Housekeeping was prompt, never a problem. 4th - The free breakfast was really nice. Generous made-to-order omelets, along with an assortment of juices, bagels, fruit, etc. I should mention though, one of the BEST things about the breakfasts (and the happy hour... see below) was the fellowship / camaradarie of the other guests. We met some really nice folks during our stay, and greatly enjoyed their company. 5th - Happy Hour. Included in your room rate is a nice open bar Happy Hour / Mixer... yes, you'll see your friends from breakfast. Live music (piano) at this time. It's a self-serve party with quite a selection of fine liquors and mixers set up. Beer and sodas are also available for free. You'll want to stop by to "prime the pump" prior to hitting Duval St. and other nearby areas. 6th - Location. This is about as good as it gets. You are perhaps 50yds from Duval St., toward the Mallory Square end. EASY walking distance to all the best of Key West. Also, parking was free on site, and while I'm not sure I could park a full-sized HUMMER in there, I didn't have any problem with my Acura. This location is VERY CONVIENIENT. I suppose that's it. My wife and I found our stay totally enjoyable, and I'm certain to make many return visits to the Curry Mansion Inn.. " We stayed at the Curry Inn for three nights, my husband did not want to leave! This inn has all the ameneties of visiting a old aunts lovely home. There is a wonderful breakfast spread in the morning with eggs made to order by a wonderful morning person Frank. Along with eggs any way you want them there are bagels, several different cream cheeses, juices, bacon, saugage. If you know anything about Key West you know eating out can hit the pocket book. Imagine the lovely experience of walking down a courtyard to have breakfast immediately made for you. Special. Not only is there breakfast there is happy hour free open bar with snack from 5-7 with a super piano man named Bob. The rooms are spotless and cool. You are literal around the corner from Duval street and a couple of short blocks from the seaport. It is the most relaxing place an osais in the hustle of Key Wests madness. We checked out, and decided to stay one more day if we could find a room and we lucked out at the Curry Mansion. Everything was so beautiful there.
